OLD BUSINESS -- Update from Macoupin County Dept. of Public Health (MCDPH) Bill Duncan reported on the meeting he and Michelle Mueller had with the MCDPH. At the beginning of the meeting MCDPH stated they would not stopISTA from having the State Shoot. Specifics were discussed as to how to handle the public’s safety at the shoot, such as, masks, social distancing, multiple tables outside, food trucks, sack lunches, disinfect doorknobs and tables once an hour, etc...  Shooters should keep their bags with them instead of congregating. No community water jugs. MCDPH will not be coming other than to inspect the kitchen.

Trophy Status

Ned reported that he received the trophies provided by the ATA. Mike suggested going through the trophies that were at BSP after the meeting and update the list. Some of the trophies had plaques with the 2020 date for and Mike will get all new plaques for them. Ned said the High Over All and Runner up for Wednesday were ordered two years ago from Shamrock and have 2020 on them but will still be awarded. Mike received a shipment of some ammo for trophies and Dennis Baker made an offer if we run into trouble getting ammo for trophies, he has plenty that we can purchase from him.

Update of HOF Brick Fundraiser

Bill Huhn reported at the end of January everything was set up to order the bricks online through the ISTA website. To date, eight orders have been received -- $1200 so far. Order forms will be given to all the clubs to get the word out. Samples were received of the bricks and were on display at the meeting. The smaller brick holds 14 characters per line. He will have 12x16 signs made for each club to hang. The price on the contract signed is good for one year. After that there is a possibility it could change.

Status of State Shoot Program Distribution

At the time of the meeting all programs had been mailed out in the previous two weeks. There were 2,222 programs mailed at 64 cents per program. Because ISTA is a 501C3, reduced postage was not available. Some people have contacted board members indicating they have not received programs. Of the total mailed, 1,891 were sent to Illinois Shooters. Programs were also sent to Michigan, Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, Arizona, North Carolina. The remainder are locked at BSP to be used during the State Shoot.

NEW BUSINESS

State Shoot Assignments

Mike Dennis informed the Board he will not be at the State Shoot until Tuesday. He indicated more help may be needed inside the ISTA building when he goes to shoot, etc.. All Board members indicated they could help inside and to call on the radio to request help when it is needed. Mike mentioned when it was decided to move the Doubles to Sunday, the Board agreed they would stay to the end of the shoot. He reminded them to stay until the end to help out with shoot offs, etc..

Ground Improvements to BSP

Michelle Mueller indicated the driveway will be patched and they will be adding gravel for another parking area. They also purchased a new trap. Camping is full for this year’s state shoot. With less people gathering indoors, more shade will be needed. Dennis Baker indicated Baker Farms & Lead Reclamation would donate a 20 x 40 tent for people to use for shade. Community water/water jugs cannot be set out. There was some discussion about ISTA providing little bottles of water for shooters and asked board members to all bring coolers to use. There was a motion regarding this but it was never voted on.

Board Minutes Posted on Website

There was a question from a shooter as to why the minutes of the ISTA meetings were not posted online. The Board discussed and Dennis Baker made a motion to post the minutes of the ISTA meetings on the ISTA website. Kevin Wunder seconded the motion. Motion carried. Dan Schocke will create a spot on the website for the minutes to be entered.

ATA DELEGATE REPORT

Bill Duncan reported the US Open & the Grand American will this year and ammunition will be available at the Grand. When the Grand was not allowed to be held at WSRC last year, the State of Illinois did not refund the vendors’ money they had paid for retail space. All vendors signed contracts this year and if the shoot is not held for whatever reason, they will be reimbursed. Vendors had to bid on their space this year, however, some vendors were not happy and have decided not to come back. There are about five or six vendors who will not be back. Bill indicated they were having a conference call to discuss the fees for the ATA Central Zone shoot and he indicated he would be pushing for $34.00 per event. The board was in agreement.

Next ISTA Meeting – June 18, 2021, at Brittany Shooting Park immediately following the Annual Meeting.

Adjournment -- Motion to adjourn was made by Kevin Wunder.  Ned Meyer seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Respectfully submitted by Joan Davis, ISTA Secretary
